Who are we ?
Robert Guy Haccoun
Community educator, journalist, I once felt the need to add a string to my bow and join the tourist guide pool of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism. Why ? To continue, modestly, to give my energy to the Jewish people. With my license in my pocket, all I had to do was offer my services to those interested in a magnificent, marvellous adventure... in Israel.
However, travelling through the country of Galilee, to the north, to the Negev, to the south, classic but nevertheless essential to understanding the historical and geographical dimensions of the country, did not seem to me sufficient to understand all its richness and diversity. It seemed to me that it was necessary to offer visitors a range of more targeted activities. Israel is indeed much more than a postcard, a name on a world map or a benevolent newspaper headline. And this is where the idea of themes to choose from in addition to the basic discovery circuit, a sort of "à la carte" stay, came from.
And this, for an hour, a day or more.
Concerned with the History of Jewish communities in the Diaspora, I felt the need to lead visitors through the Iberian Peninsula - Spain and Portugal in the footsteps of Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon (Ha Rambam) or Rabbi Yehuda Halevi; in Poland of Isaac Bashevis Singer; in the secret of Judaism in Morocco of yesterday and today or even in medieval France of Ralbag (Rabbi Levi ben Gershom), Rabad de Posquières or even Menahem Ben Salomon.
By my side, in Israel and abroad, a team of professional and approved guides and collaborators.
